14Jun2026 Sermon Recap

This week’s message was a heartfelt reminder that Christianity is not simply about knowing about Jesus—it’s about experiencing the transforming power of the risen Christ every day.

Brother Dave Fernandez began by honoring his own family and reflecting on God’s faithfulness through decades of relationship, setting the stage for a powerful message about building lives on a solid spiritual foundation. He challenged us with a simple but profound truth: if we desire to see our city changed, that transformation must first begin within us.

Drawing from Scripture, the message centered on the living hope found in Jesus Christ through His resurrection. Because He lives, believers can face trials with confidence, remain steadfast in faith, and rejoice even in difficult seasons. Our hope is not based on circumstances but on the victory of Christ.

The congregation was reminded that God’s Kingdom is actively growing around the world, with countless people coming to faith every day. Rather than focusing on fear or uncertainty, we are called to recognize that God is still moving powerfully across the nations and continues to reveal Himself to those who seek Him.

Brother Dave emphasized the importance of holiness—not as a religious obligation, but as a loving response to God’s grace. Just as Thomas moved from doubt to unwavering belief after encountering the risen Savior, we too are invited to trust Christ even when we cannot physically see Him. “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

A central theme throughout the message was the absolute sufficiency of Jesus’ sacrifice. No amount of human effort can erase sin; only the precious blood of Jesus can cleanse, restore, and make us new. The invitation of the Gospel remains open to everyone who will come to Him in faith.

The sermon also included a deeply personal moment of humility and repentance, reminding us that following Christ means extending forgiveness, seeking reconciliation, and allowing God to transform our hearts and relationships. True spiritual maturity is demonstrated not only in worship but in how we love our families and those around us.

Prayer and the ministry of the Holy Spirit were highlighted as essential parts of the Christian life. The early church was built on prayer, dependence upon God, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit—not merely on human wisdom or programs. Jesus promised the Comforter would teach, guide, convict, and empower His followers, and that promise remains true today.

Brother Dave encouraged the church to return continually to the teachings of Christ, to love one another as Jesus loved us, and to welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. He challenged every believer to cultivate unity, seek God’s direction, and remain faithful to biblical truth.

The message concluded with a heartfelt invitation for all who have not yet fully surrendered to Christ to receive Him as Savior and Lord. It was also a call for every believer to pursue genuine rebirth, humility, and a deeper relationship with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Key Takeaway: When our lives are rooted in Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and marked by love, prayer, and holiness, we become living testimonies of God’s transforming grace. Our hope is alive because our Savior is alive.
