Faith and Grace: The Foundation of Eternal Life by Brother Jim Gainnie

There is something powerful about realizing that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. No matter our past, our failures, or our struggles, the message of the Gospel remains the same: grace is available, and faith is the doorway that activates it.

This week’s message focused on the life-changing power of faith and grace and how they work together in the Kingdom of God. The sermon reminded us that every person has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but through Jesus Christ, we are offered forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life.

The speakers emphasized that salvation begins with faith. Grace has always been available, but faith is what allows us to receive what God has already provided. When we respond to the Word of God with belief, grace begins to transform our lives.

One of the most powerful moments of the message was the reminder that Christianity is not simply about religion or rituals — it is about relationship. Eternal life is not just something believers experience after death; eternal life begins the moment we truly know God.

Jesus said in John 17:3 that eternal life is to know the Father and Jesus Christ whom He sent. That means eternal life is not merely about heaven someday — it is about walking daily in relationship, understanding God’s heart, hearing His voice, and living connected to Him now.

The message also challenged believers to move beyond simply operating in the Kingdom of God without intimacy with God Himself. It is possible to know church culture, scripture, and even ministry while still lacking a genuine relationship with the Father. God desires more than outward religion — He desires worshippers who worship Him in spirit and truth.

John 3:16 was highlighted as the heartbeat of the Gospel:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

This verse reminds us that salvation is rooted in God’s love, not our performance. We do not earn righteousness. Jesus became sin for us so that we could become righteous before God. Through His death and resurrection, the wrath of sin was removed, and believers were justified — made innocent before God.

The sermon also pointed to Romans 10:9-10, explaining that salvation comes through believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. The simplicity of the Gospel is what makes it so beautiful. God is not looking for perfection; He is looking for surrender and faith.

Another key focus of the message was the resurrection. The resurrection is more than a historical event — it is the assurance that believers have eternal life. Because Jesus rose again, we have the promise that death does not have the final word. The resurrection guarantees hope, justification, and the promise of a glorified life with Him.

The speakers encouraged the church to awaken spiritually, especially the younger generation, and to pursue a deeper understanding of God’s presence and purpose. In a world filled with confusion, fear, and distraction, the Gospel still offers abundant life.

Jesus said in John 10:10:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

That abundant life is found through relationship with Christ, walking by faith, and trusting fully in His grace.

As the message closed, the congregation was reminded that the Holy Spirit continues to draw people into relationship with God. Grace is always available, but faith opens the door to receive it. Through Jesus, we are no longer defined by sin, shame, or failure — we are made righteous, justified, and alive in Him.

The resurrection changes everything.Grace changes everything. And faith is what leads us into the fullness of life God intended for us all.
