1/4/2026 Sunday Service Recap | Message by Brother Jim Gainnie
This past Sunday at Oak Grove Church, Brother Jim Gainnie shared a timely and deeply grounding message about learning to receive from God and allowing the Lord Himself to build His house.
We were reminded that the Church is not a building, but the people—God’s dwelling place. Drawing from Psalm 127:1, we were encouraged to examine who is truly doing the building in our lives. If the Lord is not building it, our efforts—no matter how sincere—are in vain.
The message called us back to foundational truths:
• We are a new creation, made in the likeness and image of God, learning to live from what is from above.
• Righteousness is not something we earn—it is found in a Person, Jesus Christ.
• God’s Kingdom is built not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).
Brother Jim spoke candidly about the season ahead—one that requires humility, surrender, and trust. He emphasized the importance of prayer, fasting, and becoming watchmen who are spiritually alert, prepared, and led by the Holy Spirit.
A powerful encouragement was given from Proverbs 3:5–6:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him—and He will direct your paths.
We were reminded that God is jealous over His people—His blood-bought possession—and that we are in a season where God is giving, and we must choose to receive. Open hands. Open hearts. Lives positioned in humility before Him.
The invitation was clear:
Let go of self-reliance, lay down old ways, and allow the Shepherd to lead us forward—together.
A season of receiving. A season of surrender. A season where the Lord builds His house.
