Repentance, the Kingdom, and God Building His House

12/28/2025 Message Recap: We were reminded that Jesus’ first message was simple yet life-changing:

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” True repentance is not just turning away in words, but a deep heart change that redirects the course of our lives.

From Matthew 5, we reflected on the Beatitudes:

  • Poor in spirit — recognizing our spiritual need for God opens the door to the Kingdom.

  • Mourning over sin — when sin is laid on the altar, heaviness is lifted and freedom comes.

  • Meekness — those who submit their lives to God will inherit what He has promised.

The Lord continues to remind us that He is the One building His house. We are not the builders—we are the dwelling place. Individually and corporately, we are God’s temple, His habitation.

We Are His Building

Through several scriptures (2 Corinthians 5, John 2, 1 Corinthians 3, John 14), we were shown:

  • Our earthly bodies are temporary, but God has prepared an eternal dwelling for His people.

  • The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our faith—without it, there is no power.

  • We, the Church, are God’s holy temple, and His Spirit permanently dwells within us.

  • Christ alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

A Call to Receive

A strong emphasis was placed on learning to receive. The enemy works hard to keep God’s people from receiving what Heaven has already given. Last week and again this Sunday, the Holy Spirit invited us to simply receive—from God and from one another.

We were reminded of the words spoken over Oak Grove:

  • We are blessed to be His building

  • Blessed to be led by the Spirit

  • Blessed to walk in covenant and mercy

  • Blessed to receive His plans, purpose, power, and testimony

The Lord made it clear that what He is building in this season will not be built by human wisdom, ideas, or effort, but by the Spirit of God alone. “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)

Looking Ahead

We were encouraged to trust the Father deeply and allow Him to take us further into the depth of His Word and His work. As we hunger and thirst for righteousness, He promises that we will be filled.

Please continue to pray for one another, stay focused on the presence of the Lord, and keep your hearts open to receive all that He desires to give.
